Yesterday, I couldn't resist making a plush version of "Greybloomer" the cat. Mina has claimed him for her own. He is often found wrapped in a blanket and cat napping in the house...

I really should finish up start my holiday gift shopping...then there are cookies to bake along with ornaments and presents to make. Instead, my creativity is back with a fervor and all I can do is make or draw something when ever I have an ounce of time. Then, there was this morning's trip to the craft store, where I spent a small fortune on crafty goodness...*sigh* Please remind me not to do that again. I think I have enough stuff to keep the girls busy with projects all month and then some! Do you think there is a local chapter of Crafty-holics Anonymous in New England?

For now, I will attempt to keep my ideas in the sketchbook until after the holidays, when I can share some new friends with you...  

 

winter bunny...

A new design for bunny wunny. He stands just over 10 inches tall (not including his long floppy ears) and is made from a soft ivory corduroy. I will have one available in my shop this afternoon. It's similar to my youngest daughter's own bunny and she has become quite smitten with this one, too...

countdown to christmas revisited...

 

It's that time of year to hang the advent calendar again!

This is our second year and added the activities that would go into each window for the 25 days until Christmas. You can read my post from last year about how it is was constructed. Here are a few of the activities for this year... 

W E E K  O N E 

Day 1: Hang holiday decorations & set up tree in the girls' room

Day 2: Watch Rudolph grow

Day 3: Write letter to Santa 

Day 4: Watch tree lighting at the town green (and drop off letter into the North Pole box)

Day 5: Bake cookies  

Day 6: Make ornaments

We are only partially through day one and Mina has already snuck a peek behind the red door. So, I placed Santa near the calendar to guard it. He didn't do a very good job because an hour later I found the calendar crumpled on the floor with the hanging string broken, the tiny red door open from curious fingers and Mina hiding behind the sofa...

This time I said, "Don't bother peeking! Santa doesn't put anything in there until Christmas day" 

Yeah, we will see how long that lasts...

I would like to be a cat...

If only I could spend my day this way. Wouldn't you know, just when you have a day filled with driving, scheduled appointments and...LIFE, you would wake up with horrible pain in your back. I wish I could just stretch out and snooze instead of backing out of parking spots at nursery school (ouch) and lifting a wiggling little one into a car seat (double ouch) while begging her sister to pick up the rain boots they just kicked off because mama can't possibly bend down because she is in pain! Anyway, even if my day isn't going so great, I can still provide a little joy to a few lucky readers...

Anja, you get Miss Olivia bear! And Jacqueline will receive a print of my latest painting "Sprout". Congratulations ladies!

Now, I'm off to sneak a little cat nap while the girls watch a movie...

I hope it's a L-O-N-G one!

These girls will be in my shop tonight at 8:30 pm (EST) along with a few more of their friends...

This will be the last run of dolls for 2009. I should have more available in January or February 2010. I'm also offering F R E E  S H I P P I N G for all US orders and a reasonable flat rate for my international customers until December 6th...

My daughters are almost 3 and 4.5... They are super excited about Santa, baking, ornament making and of course presents! I'm taking some time off to be excited with them :D

I hope everyone had a great weekend. My mashed potatoes were a big hit at our Thanksgiving feast. I decided to pick my favorites from all the suggestions which included garlic, bacon, cream cheese and loads of butter. Thank you all for your help! I'm still taking names for the drawing until midnight (EST) I will be back tomorrow to announce the winners...
