sleepy fox...

Inspired by the discovery of fox tracks through our yard...

Sleepy fox measures about 10 inches (25cm) tall and has a long bushy tail. My girls claimed him for their very own, smothered him in kisses and hugs and made him a little burrow out of blankets. I just added a happy fox into my shop.

Welcome!

I'm so glad you could stop by. This is my 2nd year for the One World-One Heart event. It's a wonderful way to meet new people and to catch up with friends! 

In honor of this event, I am giving away one loveable bumblebird plush. He is created with super soft fleece and cotton fabrics. He measures about 8 inches wide and 12 inches tall (20/30cm) I will hold a drawing on February 12th and announce the name of the recipient the same day. This drawing is open to anyone that would like to participate. Just leave a comment for this post along with an email address where you can be reached. Good Luck!

finn the bear...

Meet Finn...he loves to climb trees in his woodsy bear costume. 

He is one of the BIG plush costume dolls and stands over 24 inches (61m) tall. I have just one more doll to make in a costume. Can you guess what she will be?

Finn is available in my shop along with matching boy and girl brown bears.

I'm so ready for sunshine. Unfortunately, no warm trips to Florida or the islands this year...Instead, I'll just gaze at the webcam in St. John and dream!

a winter walk...

Today, I cleaned my studio and came across this painting from last winter of Mousey on a winter walk. It is painted with acrylics on a 9x12 canvas and is ready to hang! I've added it to my shop with a generously reduced price. A clean studio for me equals fun and affordable art for you! Be on the lookout for more whimsical treasures...

And it's so bright and sunny outside...seems unlikely that we will be covered with almost a foot of snow tomorrow. Hopefully we will have more snow fun like last week!

My Dad and I near the beach in California, when I was just a wee one...

And lucky me! 

I have a sitter today. I'm off to enjoy some time away from the house and studio and meet my husband for a lunch date. I look forward to returning to enjoy a delicious chocolate frosted cake with the girls!

happy new year...

I just love the start of a new year and all that it brings...

A time for reflection, new beginnings and continued joy for what is good in life!

This year I vow to enjoy more of the little things, live in the moment and most importantly spend quality time with my loving husband and two little girls. 

There will be some new changes to the bumblebird shop. I realize what is truly important in my life, and I have to step away a bit from the continuous daily work of the shop. It's a venture I truly love and am so grateful for, but is very time consuming! The kind of time that takes me away from what I love the most...my husband and girls. I love to paint and sew, but this year I'm only drawing, painting and sewing when I feel inspired and just plain feel like doing it! To create only what I'm truly passionate about. That might mean less merchandise in the shop, but more joy at home and in my heart. And I've decided to not take on anymore custom work. Instead, I will focus on the bumblebird characters and illustrations dear to me...and available to you in the new year. Thank you for your understanding. The shop will reopen later next week. Stay tuned for the date and time...
