little whale...

Although I live in the woods, the seashore is very close by...

summertime at the beach always inspires thoughts of sweet sea creatures. 

This little whale is another attempt to bring one of my sketches to life. 

He will be available in my shop tonight at 9pm (EST) 

along with my last batch of dolls for the summer.

learning to swim...

The last few weeks I have been participating in an amazing e-course titled 

"In the Fish Bowl :: Life As An Artist Online"with Marisa of Creative Thursday. 

I highly recommend it!

For me, this course has been a lesson in re-learning to swim. Navigating the waters of the internet. A little nervous about what dwells in the depths and questioning if I'm strong enough to keep afloat, especially in our turbulent times....

But most of all I am learning so much about myself and the joys that my art and business bring 

to me. Finding the balance between family and work, trusting my intuition and 

staying calm when the seas get rough...

When my shop reopens on Monday, July 20th, there will be a few changes. 

I have discovered that I'm most happy with my life and work when I do what I truly love 

and have plenty of time for my babies and husband. 

So, with a deep *sigh* I have decided to no longer take custom orders. Instead, I will focus on my vision of bumblebird, work on some projects that I hope to reveal to you soon and most importantly be with my family.

lost and found...

Hello again!

Still enjoying my vacation...I just might add another week on! Seriously. Just one of the many benefits of working for yourself. 

And there are no photos to share as I lost my camera last weekend in Boston...Good news though, It's been found and on its way home to me. Craiglist rocks! Not only can you find tricycles for your kids and danish modern dining room sets, you can now find lost things! That's right...a virtual lost & found! If only I could use it daily to locate my baby girl's bunny. She hides it in the craziest places and I'm constantly on the hunt for the shabby thing...

independence day...

Happy 4th of July!

As we have a long weekend here in the states, full of fireworks, bbq's and other celebratory perks that come with holidays. I've decide to take a much needed break, unplug and enjoy this beautiful summer we are having.  

I'll return here after the 12th.

The plans for my break? Hmmm... maybe a little tidying up in the studio, sketching, playing with some projects that have absolutely nothing to do with business, but hopefully give me a little inspiration...

But if the sun is shining...you will most likely find me at the beach!
