Mina turns six years old today!
Every year, I look forward to designing a special invitation for my daughters' birthdays. This year, I had a little help. Mina insisted she help me with the design of her party invitations by painting most of the card all by herself. And then adding sparkles to the mermaid tail, crown and number 6. The colors are stunning! I'm so proud of her. She is quite the artist and loves to draw and create clothing fashions for her imaginary characters and dolls. Last week she made me a paper skirt to wear with colorful construction paper and bits of masking tape. It's now hanging on the wall in our 2nd floor landing. I think it's time I teach her to sew. Today, I'm surprising her with her very own little sewing machine.
I'm incredibly lucky that she made me a mama. So today, I not only celebrate her birth, but my rebirth as a mama-six years old and many more to go!
aww happy birthday to your mermaid! love the painting, and I love that you collaborated. I hope she loves her sewing machine -- I was gifted a book on sewing for children (http://amzn.to/kv3meG ) -- and my little one is only a year old... can't wait to use it someday!!
